Much like bad weather hit the north-west the previous evening, City swept the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a convincing 3-0 victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their championship potential as they consolidated their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Successive Setbacks for United

This outcome marked back-to-back Women's Super League defeats for the United manager's side for the maiden instance since May 2024, leaving them seven points off the top team with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.

The Red Devils' capacity to balance league and European football with a limited roster has been a frequently analyzed topic since they secured entry to the European competition.
